Are you a motivated and talented individual with a passion for youth engagement, communication, event organization, and the Nordic region? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! The Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania is currently searching for a Junior Communication Adviser to join our dynamic team of advisers.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of organizing and leading communication of the first-ever Nordic-Baltic Youth Summit in Vilnius, collaborating closely with Lithuanian and Nordic youth organizations.

The position is full time fixed term: 2 years. We apply three months’ probation.

Responsibilities

Communication:

Our communication efforts are vital to our success. You will take charge of various aspects of communication, helping us reach and engage our target audience effectively.

  • Create engaging and informative content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn);
  • Utilise different formats such as reels, stories, and videos to enhance the organisation’s online presence;
  • Stay attuned to social media trends and propose innovative ideas for content creation;
  • Update and develop our internet website (norden.lt);
  • Ensure that all written and visual content adheres to the Nordic Council of Ministers’ brand guidelines;
  • Assist Communication Advisor with other office communication tasks.

Event Management:

This position will be central to the success of the Nordic-Baltic Youth Summit in Vilnius. Your dedication and proactive approach will be crucial in building strong relationships with Lithuanian and Nordic youth organizations, ensuring a successful and impactful event.

  • Collaborate closely with Lithuanian and Nordic youth organizations to plan and execute the Nordic-Baltic Youth Summit;
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Take a lead in the planning, coordination, and execution;
  • Handle logistical arrangements, including venue selection, catering, and participant registration;
  • Maintain event budgets and track expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in the relevant field;
  • At least one year experience in the field;
  • Excellent communication skills in Lithuanian and English , both written and verbal. Knowledge of Scandinavian language is a plus;
  • Strong text writing skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt writing style to different platforms and target audiences;
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and experience in creating content, utilising different formats (reels, stories, videos), and engaging with online communities;
  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the Nordic region and an understanding of its political, social, and cultural dynamics;
  • Previous experience in event organisation, preferably conferences or larger events, is a plus;
  • Involvement in youth politics and NGOs or background/interest in the field is an advantage.
