Apply for internship position!

Are you a Finnish student interested in getting an international work experience? Then we would like to hear from you!

In 2025 the Nordic Council of Ministers’ presidency is held by Finland. The Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania therefore invites enthusiastic and curious Finnish students to do an internship for Spring 2025 and Autumn 2025 semesters!

The Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania acts as a liaison between the Nordic ministerial councils and Lithuanian ministries and other official bodies. It provides information about the Nordic countries, promotes Nordic culture in Lithuania and encourages Nordic-Lithuanian cultural cooperation. In addition to this, it also administers several Nordic Council of Ministers exchange programmes and promotes the development of democracy and civil society in Belarus.

We offer an interesting international internship for those who want to gain experience in various areas of the public sector. During the internship, you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the implementation of projects in the fields of climate and sustainability, culture, digitalization, education, energy, gender equality, media, youth and other areas.

The duration of the internship is up to 6 months with full-time work. We invite you to start the internship in January or August 2025 (we can discuss the start and end date).

We hope that you:

  • Are interested in international cooperation, Nordic-Baltic relations.
  • Are proactive, creative, able to communicate, and have good organizational skills.
  • Are able to perform tasks related to project management, analytical work, event organization, and administration.
  • Communicate fluently in English.
  • Are a student, or in-between studies, of a relevant topic.

In addition to being a great opportunity to get international work experience, Vilnius also offers a strong social arena for young people as Lithuania was named the happiest country for young people in the World Happiness Report 2024. You will be working together with a Lithuanian intern and there are opportunities to get to know the other Nordic interns at other entities, while Vilnius is also a vibrant student city.

The internship will not be paid, but students and recent graduates can receive a grant from Erasmus+. Please contact your university regarding this opportunity.
